In 1987 I designed and built some large kites as part of an imaginary sky signage. They were displayed in a group show under the Grand-Palais glass-roof and only after I learned how to fly the largest one. In the following decades the wind has ridden me all around the globe...
These were my years of apprenticeship in sewing, building light dismantable structures and harnessing the wind. But the most fascinating for me was the discovery of the world and the very ancient kite traditions still so lively in Asia.
In many ways, this long kiting experience, both as an interaction with other civilisations and a performance with the wind, has set the grounds for my later artist's works, in situ installations and kinetic sculptures.
